How to verify SHA-256

  1. Download the installer only from vidak.app.
  2. Open PowerShell in your Downloads folder.
  3. Run the command below and compare the result.
Get-FileHash .\Vidak_0.1.0_x64-setup.exe -Algorithm SHA256
If even one character differs, do not run the file. Download it again from the official page.

Digital signature and SmartScreen

The installer is signed as CN=Vidak Software and has a trusted Sectigo timestamp. The signing certificate itself is currently self-signed, so Windows does not trust its root chain and may show SmartScreen.

Until Vidak moves to a publicly trusted Authenticode certificate, SHA-256 is the primary independent check.

What the app uses

Vidak uses the open-source yt-dlp project to work with video sites and FFmpeg to merge tracks and create MP3 files. Downloads go from the selected platform to your computer.

Private videos may require browser cookies. Never email a cookies.txt file or attach it to a support request.

Report a security issue

If an antivirus product blocks the official file, send its name, warning text, your Windows version and a Vidak log to hello@artovo.com. Do not attach cookies, passwords or downloaded media.
