How to save a Vimeo video
- Open the individual Vimeo video page and make sure it plays for you.
- Copy the page URL from the address bar or Vimeo sharing control.
- Paste the URL into Vidak and select “Find”.
- Choose one of the detected quality options.
- Select a local folder and start the download.
An embedded player URL may omit context or require the referring website. When possible, open the video on its normal Vimeo page and copy that address instead.
Private links, passwords and embeds
Vimeo creators can restrict videos to specific accounts, domains or password holders. Vidak can only use access you legitimately possess; it does not defeat DRM or privacy controls. If a video belongs to your team, first confirm that it plays while you are signed into the correct browser profile.
Source file versus streaming quality
Some creators enable an original-file download on Vimeo, while other pages expose only adaptive streaming versions. Vidak lists compatible streams it can detect. The highest number is not always the creator’s original upload, and missing 4K cannot be reconstructed by the downloader.
If Vidak cannot find the video
Try the regular video page, verify browser playback, update Vidak and disable any proxy that changes the page response. A domain-restricted embed may work only inside the authorised website. In that case, use the download method supplied by the owner or Vimeo account controls.
Frequently asked questions
